Our History

The Kenya Judiciary Staff Association (KJSA) is a registered members’ organization under the Societies Act (Cap 108) of the Laws of Kenya. It is stablished to represent and advocate for the interests of non-judicial employees within the Judiciary. KJSA serves as a unified voice for its members, promoting their welfare, professional growth, and effective participation in the justice sector.

KJSA was formally conceptualized on 14th February 2012 during a strategic workshop held at Laico Regency Hotel, bringing together dedicated Judiciary staff members from across the country.

Following extensive deliberations and foundational planning, the Association was officially registered in March 2012, marking the beginning of its mandate to foster solidarity, uphold labour rights, and enhance service delivery within Kenya’s Judiciary. The Association has since grown tremendously to over three thousand members.

Committed to professionalism, inclusivity, and institutional excellence, KJSA continues to engage with key stakeholders, including the Judicial Service Commission (JSC), to advance fair labour practices, staff development, and the efficient administration of justice.

The Association is recognized by the Judicial Service Commission to be the body advancing interests of staff in Judiciary.
